An outing at Butterfly Talent Academy (BTA) definitely brings back some fantastic memories for the travelling children’s bookshop. On the morning of 7 December 2013, we were there bright and early for an exciting Bookalore event of stories and craft by author-storyteller par excellence Poile Sengupta and talented author-illustrator Alankrita Jain.
In a jiffy, the bookshop was all set up, our banner was flying high, the books were arranged according to age-groups, and the billing counter was at the ready… Across the two hours of the event, a few parents ambled in, asked for recommendations, picked up books… and things were rather ho-hum.
Or so we believed, because we didn’t think children and parents alike would soon come charging in… fee fi fo fum! The bachcha storm hit the bookshop, blew our books here, there, everywhere, taking most away, and leaving us dazed, dumbstruck and delighted!
We’re getting set for our third outing at BTA. This time, we’re carrying some emergency rations – cupcakes :-) Why? Because life is all about keeping calm and eating cake – while our books sell like hot cakes!
