What floats in the middle of the Pacific Ocean? Some exotic marine animals and plants? Think again. Because the answer is approximately 100 million tons of trash, mostly plastic! Known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, this is the world’s biggest waste bin (about one-and-a-half times the size of the US of A) and it lies right in the middle of the world’s largest ocean! Quite clearly then, our earth is in the grip of a deadly plastic monster who is strangling it!
